HGTC students offer affordable computer tune-ups

Members of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) will be offering their expertise to cash-strapped students and the general public interested in learning how to keep their computers running smoothly.

The "PC Wash" will be held on the Conway campus of Horry-Georgetown Technical College in Room 310 of the 1000 Building beginning on Tuesday, October 4th, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A second session will be from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Room 315, also in the 1000 Building. They will continue every Tuesday until the end of the year.

Highly-qualified students will be doing basic PC maintenance such as defragging hard drives, virus scans, malware removal, and other tasks that could greatly enhance a computer's performance. The students will also offer their customers tutorials on how to keep up with system maintenance.

Prices are as follows:

  • $5.00 for the first 30 minutes,
  • $2.00 for every 30 minutes after

In addition to providing services, the students will accept donations to the local AITP chapter.

There's plenty of great Myrtle Beach content out there, but it's ever harder to find -- Myrtle Beach's TheDigitel is the only place to get linked to the best Myrtle Beach content and events.
