The Fudgery, best known for their delicious fudge, their singing employees and their enticing, barker-esque calls to come and get a free sample found themselves on SmartTravel.com's list of "America's Best Beach Eats"

What does SmartTravel.com have to say about the heavenly rich sweets peddlers?

If you're after rich handmade fudge, we've got just the thing. The Fudgery first opened in North Carolina's Outer Banks and now has stores in a handful of states, as well as at Barefoot Landing, Broadway at the Beach, and the Tanger Outlets in Myrtle Beach. So it's safe to say a trip to this popular fudge shop is a Carolina must-do.

Making the list are some other beach community classics, such as Nathan's Hot Dogs, Atlantic City Salt Water Taffy and the Hawaiian treat shaved ice.
