With dozens more coming: Renewed calls come for S.C. to ditch custom license plates
If you drive in South Carolina, you know that drivers cannot only place a custom frame around their license plate, but they can opt for special "vanity" plates from the DMV.

Law enforcement officials have complained before, saying it's time to get back to license plate basics of identifying cars with state-issued license plates.
Now bills signed into law allow for dozens more, and The State writes that the dozens more coming are renewing concerns, and the paper summarizes the new options available.
