MYR had lowest SC fares in 2011, but not a likely repeat
Myrtle Beach International Airport had the lowest airfare rates among other South Carolina airports in 2011, but it will be interesting to see if that ranking holds in 2012.

According to this press release on WBTW, the average rate was $268, with our closest competitor being Florence Regional Airport (FLO, which cracks me up every time) with $373. However, with the recent cessation of services by Myrtle Beach Direct Air, home of the $9 Fare Club, it's easy to speculate our average fare price will jump substantially despite bargain airlines like Vision offering flights to and from MYR. In fact, the rise in fares may partially explain the decreased traffic that the airport is continuing to experience.
