The North Myrtle Beach Chamber and Convention & Visitors Bureau will be hosting the first ever Barbecue & Stump event on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at the 'Horseshoe' that's located at the end of Main Street.

Festivals and Events Director Charlene Lynam sent invitations to both incumbents and candidates to participate in this event. In addition to the political atmosphere, she's planned a festive flair with local bluegrass band Sawgrass as the entertainment and Damon's Grill as the barbecue purveyor.

"This is a great non-partisan opportunity to hear from candidates running for local and regional offices. We appreciate Coastal Carolina Association of Realtors and the City of North Myrtle Beach helping make this event possible."

-Marc Jordan, Chamber President and CEO.

Barbecue plates will be available for purchase throughout the event. Attendees can select either pulled pork for $7 or ribs for $10. Plates include beans, slaw, and rolls with meat selection.

Festivities will start at 5 p.m. and will go until 7:30 p.m.
