South Carolina to raise sales tax in 2013?

FITS News is reporting that there will be a sales tax increase in 2013 that is aimed at improving the state's infustructure. 

FITS writes in part:

A proposal to raise South Carolina’s statewide sales tax by one cent (or by 16.7 percent) will be pushed for during the 2013 session of the S.C. General Assembly
