Dubbed a "Sea Island Holiday Celebration," this full-stage musical production stars Aunt Pearlie Sue and Gullah Kinfolk in the cast of 20 on the last Christmas before the Civil War.
The masters in the Big House, are talking war and we in the Quarters, talking freedom coming. History comes alive as this full-stage musical transports you back in time to an old southern plantation on the Sea Islands of Beaufort County South Carolina.
To better immerse you in the spirit of things, and to make sure you don't go hungry, there wil be a Taste of Gullah Soulfood Buffet. There will also be artwork and crafts for sale.
It's on Friday, December, 10 at 7 p.m. at the USCB Performing Arts Center at 801 Carteret Street in downtown Beaufort. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Steep discount for kids and teens. (843) 986-1102.
And, as the event promoters told us, "Christmas Dis Ain't Christmas Wit'out Aunt Pearlie Sue & Kinfolk. Come 'joy yo'self."
