If you're looking for a unique and exciting show to attend this week, hit up Shpongle at The Pour House on Tuesday night for a real treat.
Shpongle is made up of Simon Posford and Raja Ram, but the two often collaborate with other artists to bring fans some of the most dynamic psychedelic downtempo/psychedelic ambient sounds around. Shpongle samples Eastern ethnic instruments and Western contemporary synthesizer-based psychedelic music. Hard to wrap your head around all that? Read on.
The group, based in Britain, is on a U.S. tour and their stop in Charleston is pretty darn exciting. Shpongle's sound may not be for everyone, but for those of you who are unfamiliar with them, give the tracks Dorset Perception and My Head Feels Like A Frisbee a listen and you may very well get hooked.
Tickets for Tuesday night's 8 p.m. show are on sale now for $17 each.
